   Summer can be a little less varied as I sink into the glass of house white routine (perhaps 2) when I get home from work. So no surprise that my Friday started with said (2) glasses of 07 Gambal Bourgogne Chardonnay, followed by the last drops (it started as half a bottle!) of the Chézeaux/Ponsot Chambolle Charmes - a very good start for a Friday 13th...

   Saturday and there seems still plenty of 07 white to start me off, but given how the Fourrier 04 CSJ performed the other week, I decided to try another from him - this time the villages Chambolle - let's see...

   Chorey-l-b piece de chapitre 2004, a very delicious if a little light, Burghound mentioned dusty tannins, and yes, I suppose that is one way to describe them .....

   Puligny-Montrachet 2007 from Carillon to start with last night. Lovely nose, white flowers and lots of minerals, also white fruit, balanced wine, crispy, complex, every taste aks for more, there's still a lot to come, may need 2 -3 years. Rousseau CSJ 2001, not full ready yet, the class is present, but it has some tannins to resolve a little more, long aftertaste with the remarks of this vineyard.

   Pommard Hospices de Beaune Cuvee de la Charite 1994 bought on a auction. The first glass after opening was just awful. The second test after 4 hours was just a great Pommard. Balanced wine, chocolade. A very good lenght for a villages wine. A great wine made from a great vigneron.

   Hi Bert, The CSJ was the other week - I think it's still on the front page of the diary (down below...). The Chambolle was more than drinkable... ;o)

   Drouhin Chorey Le Beaune 06 which was very good partner for a picnic. Lots of crunchy fruit, and refreshing acidiy, with a slight savoury finish to make things interesting.
