Thanks Antoine, much appreciated - of course Duband isn't in the Côte d'Or (though you can say the same for Thénard) and his very commercial style has recently changed - I actively disliked the wines of only a few years ago - so what is the consistent approach now? Do you think François would have been happy if we had stretched to 100 domaines and his personal choices had slipped in(?)
I'm not looking for defence from anyone, after all these are the well-thought-out Burgundy-specific critiques of someone who has never heard of Domaine Hubert Lamy ;-)
Jokes aside, all critique has some value and François' points are noted. Worth considering re Perrot-Minnot and Taupenot-Merme; if I had the luxury of one more space in Morey, frankly I would put Dujac above all others.
I offer no critique of the T-M suggestion - an improved producer in recent vintages - but which style of wines from P-M does François put forward(?); the (perhaps) overextracted wines that Christophe has now run away from (whatever anyone says, I loved his 05s), or the more Mugnier-esque wines which we have only seen since 07 - is there some consistency to hold onto so we can have a definitive view of the domaine's style? I say not yet. The same holds true for Faiveley and Mortet (stylistic changes since 06).
So from François' list, only C Dugat have had some consistency in the last years and is the only one I would consider for 'promotion', but let's be clear, I actually appreciate the opportunity to discuss all his suggestions though!
PS Feel free to forward my response to FM Antoine, he's very welcome to contribute to the discussion here in French or English, though my responses will be in the anglo-saxon :-)
