Anybody has any experience with the wines of this domaine? I bought a case of 05 village several years ago; the 2nd bottle, recently drunk, was already showing some tertiary notes. I also have half a case of 1er cru Les Petits-Monts - not touched yet. Drink or keep?

Some lower-level 05s I've had recently seems to have lost their fruit while remaining firmly structured.

I have pretty good experiences with this Domaine, and I think the wines can age quiet well. I had a 98 Petit Monts one year ago which was marvellous, complex, voloptous, great harmony. Also the 98 village (drunk at the same time) was great, not as complex and elegant as the Petit Monts, but a great pleasure to drink. Also I had a 96 Pertit Monts which showed a lot of oxidations notes. Don't know if it was the bottle or the wine - might be the wine since the son of Robert, Jean Louis took over in 97, and I heard that the wines made a lot of progress since. The 97 Grand Echezeaux I had half a year ago was a bit disapointing nevertheless, a good wine, but not on a Grand Cru level (in my opinion not as good as the Petit Monts 98). maybe it was the transition phase of the Domaine, or the vintage (Most 97 I had are over the top now) But basically I think this is a real good Domaine with fair priced wines.
I have no experiences with 05 from Sirigue, but I heard from a lot of sources that the 05s are not open right now.

just bought some bottles Petits Monts 2002 from this producer will get them next week and keep you posted on them. I had a Chambolle-Musigny 2005 from Barthod, this was a very lovely bottle, lots of dark fruits and soft tannins. Also had a Gevrey-Chambertin 2005 from Rousseau same expression and very open already.
Had some bottles from '99, Clos des Réas and Brulées from Michel Gros, not open for business right now, will leave the other bottles from 1999 in the cellar for some more years.Posted 1 year ago # -

Thanks Joachim - I missed this one first time round.
I really enjoyed the 2007 wines from Sirugue on release - a lovely pure style. In the last couple of months they've been a little bit simple - but I suspect this may just be a phase.

Had a Petits Monts 2002 from Sirugue last saturday. Colour was medium full, little from the nose, closed and austere, not open at the moment. Good grip, full, good fruit, fresh, elegant style, tannins still a little prominent. Very long at the end but not open for business right now, difficult to judge will leave the other bottles in the cellar for some more years. Would love to try some other bottles from this producer that are more accessible.

I have experience in her Grands Echezeaux 1996 and 2002 .And also her Petit Monts 1996.
I have them all at the earilier of this year.
For her Grands Echezeaux 1996, it is very good with good acid to hold the nose of a lot berries and balanced oak smell. The color is also very interesting which is a bit pink without fine and diluting. The tastes intially is very fruty but with time (2hrs) It comes down insteand appear some wild ,mushroom spicy but still got very concentration and very sturdy.
For her 2002, I think it is not typical Grands Echezeaux, as it is more female wine i think. very seductive ,spicy, earth smell but a bit lean although still firm and very elegant.

Thanks for your sharings. As I said, the 97 Grand Echezeaux was not very appealing, but I still have some bottles of GE 98 from Sirigue, really looking forward to open this, will you keep posted on it.

Had a 2005 Vosne villages from Sirugue the other night. Nice nose showing black fruit and forest floor/autumn leaves/champignon tertiary notes, but very much alive. Taste however strict, unforgiving, very dry and a bit of a hard edge. Probably best to wait some more.
