Am looking for any meaningful info on a (possibly former I guess ?) Nuits based negociant, F Hasenklever, who, until last evening I'd never heard of. Other than references to a range of odd old bottles on Google I can't find anything else.
I note a similar request was made in Feb of this year on wine berserkers - seemingly with my co-poster not getting any real response.
Why my interest ? Last night, courtesy of a wine friend, I had the opportunity to taste a bottle of Hasenklever's 1961 Grand Echezeaux - one of two bought at a Yorkshire UK house clearance auction last year for £30 the pair. Incroyable ! I'll try and post a note along with notes on the other fab wines we sampled in the next few days - my head has just about recovered from its parlous state first thing this a.m. :-).
One would never have guessed the GE to be a 50 yr old wine. The label, mainly black with some red or orange, was in great condition. Was the wine 100% Pinot or might something have been added years ago ? Who knows ?
