I believe that the M-G Gevrey 1er cru is declassified Rucottes (i.e. young vines), each year? It got bloody expensive in 2010 to boot!

The 2006 was also sold as village Gevrey.

I don't think that they would actually make use of rejected grapes just because. I mean, in as much as they would probably be not as noted when compared to how they will keep up with the more intricate of tasting options, they would not be something that would peak about their true character. Though we could never be too sure and there are just times that a few pieces would just slip and slide.

Hi all, I just joined this very exciting burgundy forum.
I recently had a 1999 Comte de Vogue 1er Cru. Here's my tasting note:
Clear, medium ruby colour with a slightly paler rim.
Clean and medium to pronounced nose of red cherries, rashberries, some floral notes (violets?). Notes of sous bois and strong mineral undertones.
On the palate, it was dry, with medium+ acidity, medium tannin, medium+ body, medium to long, polished and silky finish. Very pleasant and lingering after taste. It can be drunk now and will keep for at least another 5 to 10 years.
I brought the bottle with me to a very good restaurant in Hong Kong. The sommelier there agreed that it was a beautiful bottle.
