I tried a 99 M-H Chambolle-Musigny 1er and was not impressed: flabby blahs with tinges of bretty beef broth went jiggling down the sidewalk dressed in a dingy, sallow browned rim. What vague fruit present was a flaccid plum pathetically attempting to flirt with the complexity of some oxidized raisen d'etre.

Oh well.

I was intrigued by this question and tried to research. Hard to find good data, but I think its more a case of a formerly solid domaine going by the wayside due to succession laws than anything; M-H was a good, decently-priced domaine, back in its day. I agree on H-N. They occupy a spot on my "top 5" list currently. Until proven otherwise, they're sort of like a band whose albums I'll purchase sight-unseen based on past track record (e.g., REM.....).

Hmmm. OK. Some relatively inexpensive M-H are available.

I know (and like, especially for the $) what I'm getting with H-N.

Nothing to be found on any relationship, but Hudelots go back pre-1789 in Burgundy.
Bill has sth on the lesser-known Moine-Hudelot.
"Domaine Moine-Hudelot was sold off in 2008 to Patrick Landanger of Domaine Pouse d’Or when Daniel Moine, former mayor of Chambolle-Musigny retired (& sought to avoid crippling death duties). The Musigny vines, however, were split (as far as I know) between domaines Leroy and Drouhin-Laroze'....
[JT] and their CV went to Charlopin."

Would anyone here know what the relationship between these domaines was or is? If so, can you reveal it here?
Are the grapes sources or vintners the same?

Thanks
