Hi,I read about your search for Gerard Mugneret. I import his wines into Belgium (Brussels)as from 1993. I can only say that he never missed a vintage (well, maybe 2004) and that his style is never overextracted, very balanced, full of finesse, terroir-driven and with a very nice pinot touch. His best wines are Echezeaux, NSG Boudots and VR Suchots. We did a lot of blind-tastings with those wines and he always came out as one of the winners, his peers were Méo-Camuzet,Anne Gros,Gros Frère & Soeur,Chopin-Groffier,Lemoine, ...
I still have some 2008, 2009 and 2010 available. The only thing is, that I only can ship in Europe, but not to the US and HongKong. Anyway, if you're still interested, feel free to contact me.

Yes, I totally agreed with you. Besides Gerard Mugnerets, I also like his relation-Geroge Mugneret Gibourg. It is also difficult to find but anyway is easier than Pascal's.
But for me, it is difficult to find old vintage given the high price of old vintage.

So far I just drink their Chambolle Musigny 1er Les Feussollotes 08 and Echezeaux 07. It is very excellent that I am looking forward after they will be aged.

For Sylvian Cathiard, it is expensive. Maybe I prefer to Jean Grivot, Michel Gros at Vosne Romanee and Ghislaine Barthod at Chambolle.

Hi Julien

I remember well: Pascal "took over" in 2004 and did his first vintage together with his father Gerard. The philosophy of them is, to say it simple: work in the vineyard and let the wine do his way in the cellar.

I like those wines because they are, how i like to have a good burgundian wine: accessible also in the youth, but with the feeling to know thw wine will get better by ageing. For me it is like that:

-Vosne Village needs at least 5-7 years to get really ready
-The Premiers (Nuits 1er les Boudots and Vosne 1er les Suchots) need 7-9
-the sole Grand Cru Echezeaux needs 8-10 Years to show what he is able to give (as like Henri Jayer told about Echezeaux: after the 10th year this kind of wine turns back with a lot of strength..."

The style of the Mugnerets is on the fruit, elegance and the typicity of Vosne. I like those wines. May they arnet as like examples of Sylvain Cathiard but what you get there for the price in my eyes is really big stuff!

Was that, what u wanted to know?

Greez

Thanks a lot from argentum

I live in Shanghai but I can stock wine at Hongkong, so it should be better deliver wine to Hongkong. Pascal just sent me the email that he can not sell wine to me at least before vintage 2011 as one reason is the reduction, some others are he should first meet the needs of his cusomer that stick to him for years.

I totally understand this.

here is my email address: syvaart@hotmail.com

if you got some news for me, you can send me email using this address..

Hi Julien

let me know where you're from? Maybe i know a merchant u can try to find something... I was at the grands jours this year and Pascal wasn't able to sell wine ex cellar, because 2010 he had up to 60% of reduction in quantity... He told me, that i can pass to him, but that it will be impossible to sell me more ex cellar.

So if you let me know your homebase, maybe i know somebody in the near to "help" you...

Hi, maybe a little too late:

Domaine G. Mugneret, now his son Pascal is in charge, told me last time they sell 75% to private clients. Only 25% is "free floating" to merchants... So i guess it is very hard to find these wines. The best is you try direct from Domaine.

I saw the wines of Gerard Mugneret in german ebay quite often. And they went for low prices, as Gerard Mugneret has not high reputation here.

I am highliy interested in buying his wine but I can not find any at the internet and also i checked with some wine merchant and broker at UK ,France and German. The feedback are all no stocks in their winelists.
