If I've bought from a producer, I might chivvy them along to replace a bottle, and certainly I have the expectation of a replacement from a merchant. Those who do not replace no-longer become a source for me - and are told in no uncertain terms - that's the only time I ever try on a 'do you know who I am?', but subtly, by including my website link in my email...
