Vintage information 2002:

A very good result - for both red and white wines - saved by good harvest weather conditions that concentrated the juice in the grapes.
Reds and whites are clean with good acidity, and perhaps a step lower concentration than the great 99's, but these 2002's were fantastic drinking from the first day - the reds today are more angular and acid-forward, they really need time.
Some worry about p.ox is already surfacing in whites...

2002 Tortochot, Morey St.DenisMar. 2005
Quite a deep colour. The nose starts in a very promising way, like Griotte… Chambertin that is. Given a little time it becomes more and more diffuse and soon starts to hint at taint. The palate is fresh and steely without any resemblance to Griotte. There’s good intensity to the fruit but the finish has a high-toned metallic edge and more obvious taint – it’s also very short. A shame – it started so well.
