Boisset Jean-Claude

2009 Boisset Jean-Claude Pommard Les Vaumuriens

The nose has width and an engaging prettiness. Tannin and good acidity make an excellent foil for the very good mid-palate flavour.

Maybe the green harvest was a little excessive as the yield was a miserly 25hl/ha. 19 months of aging before bottling. A nose of dried fruits and finesse. A wide panorama of flavours across the tongue, slightly ‘harder’ than the Dominode, but lovely mouth-watering flavours. This is very nice.

Fine depth on the nose and it’s just a little wilder than than the previous Chambolle. Full-bodied and tannic. Does exactly what it says on the label – sturdy, burly Pommard – but no hard edges. Very good.

After the understated spice of the Vosne this is fresher with redder fruit. The palate is linear with grainy tannin, density in the mid-palate and a slowly lingering finish. Nice wine.
